Jon Schallert’s 3-Minute Update Before Christmas to Start Your Weekend Right

Dec 18, 2020 | Blog, Uncategorized

It’s the weekend before Christmas and maybe you’re as overwhelmed as those of us in the Schallert family, but here are some items that might make you smile, perhaps make you dream a little bigger, and maybe help brighten your day or evening.

First, I want to congratulate four rural businesses that received national recognition for being Consumer Destinations by the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, one of the world’s leading education and entrepreneurship organizations. I’m proud of them because they took what they learned at my Destination BootCamp class and applied it in their businesses. As you’ll see, these four businesses are very different. What makes them the same is that they are living examples that the location of a business is less important today than ever before and if you create a compelling business with one-of-a-kind products and services and put yourself into it, you can attract a customer from anywhere. Regardless of what business you have, please read their unique stories. I think it will inspire you. To read their remarkable stories, click here.

Second, if there are businesses in your area that are hurting or need help, and if you’re good at helping people, you might be perfect as one of our trained Facilitators for my Destination Creation Course. We have a class January 12-14 next month and we’re looking for people who want to teach business owners my Destination process. And if you’re not the person for this job, send this link to someone in your community or organization who is: https://www.destinationcreationcourse.com/become-a-facilitator/

Third, here’s a link to the best commercial I’ve seen this holiday season. This is a tear-jerker. Take a look and let me know if it isn’t the best commercial you’ve seen in 2020. You can see it by clicking here.

Finally, one last thought: There are many of you who wrote me after my last blog, who told me of the circumstances that have hit you hard this year. Some of you have suffered financially. Some of you have been ill. Some of you have lost a loved one. Some of you have fallen behind. It might be hard now, but I just want you to know that I know who you are. I know that every day you awaken, you will tackle the day. I find it’s best to start a day by thinking of what I have and what I’m grateful for. Then, I remember the challenges I’m going through now are preparing me for greater things tomorrow. This year’s obstacles and difficulties will not be here forever. Most of all, don’t let today’s difficulties, no matter how large, stop you from the dreams you have. Hang onto those and let them be your light to pull you forward.

That’s it. Thanks, everyone. Enjoy your weekend.
